Richard Davis

Mr. Richard M. Davis Jr. 53 of Syracuse passed away unexpectedly on November 30th, 2010 at Upstate Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1957 in Florence county SC to Marvin Davis and Della Parker Davis. Richard attended public schools in Syracuse. He was a member of Southern Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an official greeter. In his leisure he enjoyed fishing and working with children. During his life he received a license as brick mason and welder. He was preceded in death by his son Lamont (Marty) Harris and step mother Helen Chase Davis.

Mr. Richard M. Davis leaves to mourn his passing, cherish his memory and celebrate his life: his parents Marvin Davis and Della Parker Davis; One daughter, LaRicha Moffett of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Alvin Davis of Pittsfield, MA and Dennis (Annette) Davis of Antioch, CA; two sisters, Debra Presley of Schenectady, NY and Moncella (Elbert) Young of Eatonville, WA; four grandchildren, Shalaya Knight and Tianna Knight of Syracuse, NY, Tykya Nelums and Sheldon Moffett of Charlotte, NC, a close friend Tyretha King of Syracuse as well as a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews’ and other relatives and friends. Richard was known as a jack of all trades and a master of none.

Calling hour: Monday 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with funeral services to follow at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Park Street.

Burial in Loomis Hill Cemetery.
