Leonard Mitchell, Sr.

Leonard P. Mitchell, Sr., 59, of Syracuse, passed away at his home on Thursday. Born in Clewiston, Florida, he resided in Syracuse most of his life. Leonard was presently employed at Peace, Inc. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernice and Henry Mitchell, Sr.; siblings, Sara Ann Ealey, Leroy Allen, and Michael Mitchell.

Survivors: His children, LaBrigitte Dowdell, Serena Mitchell, Kelli (Telly) Rowser, Jamel Mitchell, and Leonard P. (Charnissa) Mitchell, Jr.; grandchildren, Rashad and Aniah Ingram, Ziasia Walker, Tamir Rowser, Kniaja, Jamya, and Symone Mitchell; his companion, Melvie Bullock; his former wife, Bonnie Mitchell; siblings, Betty West, Henry Mitchell, Jr., Carol (Lance) Holloman-Paul; Vivian (Bryant) Hall, Deborah Mitchell, William (Sharon) Mitchell, Ida Mae(Roman) McCants, Deirdre (Walwyn) Bradford, Oscar (Michelle) Mitchell, Leslie Mitchell, Diana Mitchell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Calling hours Thursday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 149 Beattie St. Funeral services to follow at 12 noon at the church. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery.
