Juanita “Skeet” Williams, 82, of Syracuse, NY passed away Friday, after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by her family. She was born June 9, 1930 in Milledgeville, GA to the late Sidney and Marie (Dixon) Waller. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Willard, Sidney, Jr. and Wilbert Waller and sister, Odean Zachary. Juanita retired from the Hitchings Psychiatric Center in 1985 and spent her time volunteering at a number of food pantries in the Syracuse area. She enjoyed playing bingo, pokeno, hours spent playing cards with her children and tending to her many house plants.
Juanita is survived by three sons, Steve of Lithia Springs, GA, Redell of Syracuse and Sidney of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Tena of Syracuse and three sisters, Mattie Bell Brown of Milledgeville, GA, Bessie Mae McLean of Philadelphia, PA and Euride Jeffries of Orange Park, FL. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 10 A.M. – 12 Noon with funeral services to follow at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
