Josephine "Josie" Conti Maxsween

Josephine “Josie” Maxsween, 85, of Syracuse passed away Saturday at her home after a long illness of kidney disease. A life resident of Syracuse, Josie was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church. She retired at age 78 from the Syracuse School District where she worked as a lunch aid and custodian at Dr. Weeks School. Mrs. Maxsween was an avid roller-skater. Predeceased by her husband Albert Maxsween; parents, Joseph and Sarafina Conti; brothers, James, Rocco and Dominick; sister, Mary Museums.

She is survived by her daughter Jennie (Frank) Savinelli of Cicero; sons, Albert (Susan) Maxsween of Miami, Thomas, Joseph, Ted (Susan) Maxsween and James (Angie) Maxsween all of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:15 a.m. at Farone and Son Funeral Home and 10:00a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park St.
