George Spoto, Sr., 74, of Syracuse passed away Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was a life resident of Syracuse and retired from Syracuse China where he worked for 34 years. George was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Bridgeport Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Boysen Spoto; daughter, Debbie (Mark) Patnode of Syracuse; sons, George (Kathy) Spoto, Jr., of Syracuse, Mike (Heather) Spoto of Clay, John and David Spoto both of Syracuse; sisters, Mary Mosher of Syracuse and Grace (Charlie) Pingry of Utah; brothers, Carmen (Josie) Spoto of North Carolina, Rinaldo Spoto of Bridgeport, Richard Spoto of Clay and David (Denise) Spoto of Clay; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park St.
