Genell Davis

Mrs. Genell Davis, 81, passed away on July 16, 2013 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY. Genell was born March 24th, 1932 in Bowman, SC to parents General and Dessie Lee Riley. Genell moved to Syracuse at the age of 17 where she lived a long colorful life.

Surviving Genell are her seven children, Theodore Davis, Sr. (Brenda), Larry Davis (Joanne), Thomas Davis, Sr., General Davis, Sr., Lenora Genell Rice, Warren Davis, Sr. and Craig S. Davis (Cherese). Genell is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Shirley Jackson, youngest of Genell’s sixteen brothers and sisters and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special friend Regina McArthur and other family and friends. Genell is preceded by husband, Thomas Davis; her parents and 14 brothers and sisters.

The calling hours will be held Tuesday July 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 149 Beattie St., Syracuse. The funeral services will follow at noon. Pastor James Jones will be officiating.

The burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery with Farone & Son Funeral Home handling arrangements.
