

Carmella “Corinne” Colombo Mascali, 88, of Syracuse passed away Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a life resident of Syracuse and retired in 1985 from Syracuse University where she worked in the accounting department for over 20 years. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church where she was a member of the living rosary and altar society. Carmella was also employed at Flexo Wire, Remington Rand, Crouse Hinds, Lincoln Bank and was an inspector on the elections board. Mrs. Mascali wrote personal columns for the Eastwood Recorder, was president of the Nichol’s School Mother’s Club, on the board at Huntington, Eastwood and Henninger High School. Corinne also was a chairperson of the Arnts Unit of Cooperative Extension, member and officer of the Syracuse Chapter of Americans Business Women’s Association, American Legion Auxiliary and Baldwinsville Moose Club. She is predeceased by her husband Phillip, 1999; son, Philip, Jr., 1962; brothers, Dante, 2002 and Rudolph, 2003.
Survivors: daughter, Jeanie (Neal) Mautz of Hastings; son, James J. Mascali of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Neal (Heather) Mautz, Jr., Scott (Susan) Mautz and Jamie (Jorge) Martinez; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Elizabeth, Talyia, Neal, III and Alexander; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services Friday 8:15 a.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, and 9 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park St. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Carmella’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO BOX 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
