Nickolas Porreca was born on Long Island on 1/1/1927 to his loving parents Antoniette and Vincenzo. He had two older brothers, Phillip and Constantine. Upon graduating from high school, he immediately enrolled in the Army to defend our country in World War II, serving in the Philippines. Upon his return from the war, he began his work career as a truck driver, retiring from Hendrickson Brothers in 1989.
Nick loved his family, and after his brothers passed away, he eagerly took on the role of the family patriarch, giving of his time freely to take a major role in the lives of his brother's children. His niece, Angela and nephew, Vincent, as well as their spouses, cherished his company. He was an integral part of their lives.
He also had a long-term loving relationship with his girlfriend, Muriel Davis, who predeceased him in 2008. After her death, he remained a part of her family's life as well.
Nick was a man of many interests, and had a great sense of humor. He loved interacting with people, learning about them, making them laugh, and was always generous with his time to help others.
A strong, independent man, he lived on his own until his death on September 25, 2024 due to complications from COVID.
His family and all who knew him, will greatly miss him.
