John Giuffre, 89, died peacefully in his sleep after a long illness. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Marie Giuffre, his daughter Josephine Giuffre (ReyMartin), her husband, Carlos ReyMartin, and his grandsons, John and Michael ReyMartin.
John was born in Stamford CT and was raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He was a Huntington resident for over 52 years. He served two years in the Army during the Korean War. John was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, horse back riding and racing motorcycles. In the 1970s, he owned Classic Motors, a motorcycle dealership in Patchogue, NY. Afterwards, he worked in security, was a farrier, and drove a bus for the Town of Huntington. Those who knew him will say he had a great sense of humor, an appreciation for good food and music and a fierce love of his family.
