John A. Dowd, Esq. on July 20, 2021 quietly at home at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 62 years to Arline, loving father of Kevin (Cathy), Karen (Tim Connelly), Peter (JoAna), Tara (Peter Ryan) and cherished grandfather to Ryan (Meredith), Erin, Deanna, Morgan and Robert. Proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Graduate of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School; BA from St. John's University; JD from St. John's University Law School and LLM in Taxation from NYU. Practiced law for 60 years and was a Board member for Little Flower Children's Service of New York for 32 years. Founding parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle in Brookville. Visitation at Beney Funeral Home 79 Berry Hill Road Syosset on Friday 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral mass on Saturday at 10am at Saint Paul the Apostle in Brookville. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Little Flower Children's Services of New York, and/or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
