Eleanor A. Wilson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on March 25th at the age of 87, after a short hospital stay. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, but lived most of her life in Syosset, NY. She was a loving spouse to Barry Wilson for over 65 years; devoted mother to John (Gosia), Jean, Stephen (Debby) and Christopher (Melanie) Wilson; cherished grandmother to Kristin Griffin (John), Nicole Foraker (Brandon), Gina Wilson, Lily Wilson, Emmett Wilson, John Wilson and Logan Wilson; great-grandmother to nine, and loving aunt to her nieces and nephew. Her selflessness and generosity were known to all. Eleanor was a Eucharistic minister and a bereavement companion providing assistance during funeral masses for many years at St. Edward the Confessor RC Church, her parish of almost 65 years. Her faith was resolute. We will miss her tremendously.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Cavagnaro and her sisters Rosemary Cavagnaro and Joan Markovich.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, March 28th, 3 - 7 pm at Beney Funeral home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March 29th at 11am at St Edward the Confessor Church in Syosset, NY, followed by burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Old Westbury.
