William "Pete" Carroll Hodges

Sylvania – William Carroll “Pete” Hodges, age 73, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. He was born in Screven County, was retired from Grinnell Corp. where he worked as a machine operator and was a retired farmer. He was also a member of Union Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army Veteran and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Hugh and Annie Anderson Hodges.

Survivors: Sisters and Brothers-In-Law: Florrie H. & Bubba Bazemore of Sylvania, Hazel H. Lee of Portal, GA and Gail & Herbert Roberts of Hampton, SC; Brothers and Sister-in-Law: James Hodges of Newington, Edward & Sandra Hodges of Sylvania and Carl Hodges of Sylvania; Aunt and Uncle: Chauncey & Thelma Anderson; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Al Usher officiating. Burial at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. He will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM before the service.

Pallbearers: Bobby Headrix, D.J. Rudd, Jason Corbin, Richard Motes, Mike Arrietta and Ashley Bazemore.
