Sylvania- Lewis Lanier Moore, age 79, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at East GA Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. He was born in Screven County, was retired from DuPont-S.R.S. where he was in electrical and instrutments, was retired from Westinghouse and was a member of Red Bluff Baptist Church. He loved to go fishing, play horseshoes, baseball, softball and half-rubber. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Grover Cleveland, Sr. & Maggie Johnson Moore.
Survivors: Wife: Mary Wilson Moore of Sylvania; Daughters and Son-In-Law: Mary Ann & Paul Keller Newton Jr. of Statesboro, Tammy Lynn Moore and Dexter Drake of Lincolnton, GA and Katherine Alane Harrison of Sylvania; Sons and Daughter-In-Law: Lewis L. “Buddy” Moore, Jr. and James Thomas “Tommy” & Shannon Moore, all of Sylvania; 4 Grandchildren: Lewis Brooks Harrison, Thomas Raeb Moore, Mia Elaine Moore and Marly Mayden Moore; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Visitation: Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral services: Sunday, March 11, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Red Bluff Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Mann officiating. Burial at Screven County Memorial Cemetery. He will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Pallbearers: Bob Dickey, Donnie Joyner, Danny Joyner, Travis Moore, Quinton Moore, Tyler Moore and Harold Mock. Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Johnson, Rabun Bragg, Harry Bragg, Willie Knight, Bill Lee, Charles Hadaway, Leonard Mock and Bill Dickey.
