Sylvania –Krista Lane Aaron, age 68, passed away on February 19, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. The Sylvania native was born June 22, 1949 to David and Helen Lane. She was a 1967 graduate of Screven County High School and earned a Bachelor and Masters of Education degrees from Georgia Southern College. She married her high school sweetheart, Don Aaron, in 1969. She was very active in both her community and church. While a member of Sylvania First United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a retired educator, having worked for the Screven County Board of Education for 38 years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Red Hat Society and Screven County Garden Club. What she enjoyed most was annual family beach trips, spending time with her children, grandchildren and close friends. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Don Gay Aaron, Sr.; Father: David Patrick Lane, Sr.
Survivors: Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Mary Helen & Kevin Harrison and Emily & Dennis Dove, all of Statesboro; Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Dr. Don G., Jr. & Lisa T. Aaron and Charles Patrick & Leigh F. Aaron, all of Statesboro; Mother: Helen Goff Lane of Sylvania; Brother and Sister-In-Law: Pat & Marian F. Lane of Sylvania; Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law: Rupert L. & Sarah W. Aaron of Sylvania; Grandchildren: Don Aaron, III, Will Aaron, Ben Aaron, Lane Aaron, Sydney Kate Aaron, Madeline Aaron, Davis Harrison, Brynn Harrison, Riley Dove and Grayson Dove; Several nieces and nephews, a special group of close friends and beloved pet, Buddy.
Visitation: Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the Social Hall of Sylvania First Methodist Church.
Memorial Service: Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Sylvania First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ricky Varnell and Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating. Burial following at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Bill Hawkins, Dr. Bill Kent, Rip Campbell and Chuck Conley. Honorary Pallbearers: Austin Blackburn, Eddie Reddick, Chris Matheson, Rusty Black, Avery Blalock, Mike Daley and Donald Toole.
