John Paul "Johnny" Scott

Sylvania - John Paul “Johnny” Scott, age 53, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his residence in Sylvania. He was born September 27, 1960 in Jenkins County, GA to the late John Percy & Nina Ruth Stafford Scott. He was a retired engineer from Planters Rural Telephone Cooperative having worked from 1991 until 2005 and was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church. He loved working with wood, especially building cabinets and was a former member of the Sylvania Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Janet Lee Edwards Scott, several years ago; Brother: James Scott.

Survivors: Daughter: Ashley Nicole Scott of Guyton, GA; Sister: Merial Jean Scott Usher of St. Augustine, FL; Uncle and Aunt: Warren & Christie Stafford of Sylvania; Aunts: Mattie Bell Sutton and Maudie Findley, both of Glennville, GA; Granddaughter: Janet Ansley Farrer of Guyton, GA; Several Cousins.

Visitation: Tuesday, June 23, 2014, at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Green Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral Services: Tuesday, June 23, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Green Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Pete Wall officiating. Burial at Green Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Butch Mixon, Ron Perry, Keith Oglesby, David Crews and Marvin Mock. Honorary Pallbearers: Tarver Edwards, Doug Edwards, Brian Edwards, Brenda Waters, Melanie Clark, Donald Scott, Sonny Ross, Daryl Fries and the Deacons of Green Hill Baptist Church.
