OLIVER, GEORGIA
Mrs. Frances Porter Blackburn, 85, of Oliver, Georgia, died Saturday night, December 29, 2012, at her residence.
She was born October 12, 1927, in Lanes, South Carolina to the late Jonah and Glennie Brinson Porter. She was a very faithful member of the Little Ogeechee Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were, her husband, James Quincy Blackburn, a daughter, Annette B. Bragg, sisters, Louise P. Ash and Elizabeth P. Edwards, and brothers, Arthur Porter and James Porter.
Survivors include, a son and daughter-in-law, J. Larry and Karen Blackburn of Oliver, a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Frankie Porter of Gibson, Georgia, Grandchildren, Fran Morrison of Guyton, Shirley and Robert Heath of Fayetteville, NC, Jennifer and Evan Miller of Statesboro, Great-Grandchildren, Nicholas Heath, Alexis Heath, Kayla Morrison, Savannah Heath, and Isabella Miller, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Blackburn will be held Monday, December 31, 2012, at 2:00 PM at the Little Ogeechee Baptist Church in Oliver with the Rev. Vernon Edenfield officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Evan Miller, Jamie Porter, Jimmy Roberts, Greg Porter, Brian Barrs and Larry Dugger.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends at Little Ogeechee Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at the church Monday from 1 until 2:00 PM.
