Alpine, AL - William "Paw Paw" Gerry Taylor, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. William was born June 12, 1948 to Janie Lou Taylor and William C. Taylor.
William owned and operated the Four Way Grocery in Alpine, Alabama for 47 years.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Taylor; son, Gerry Junior Taylor (Holly Farmer); and son, Gearld Eugene Freeman (Sandy Meeks); grandchildren, Jonathan Alan Taylor, Dustin Junior Taylor, Cierra Kristin Taylor, Preston Freeman, Amber Freeman and Summer Meeks; William also leaves 9 great grandkids to cherish his memory; uncle, Rayford Taylor of Alpine, AL; nephew, Johnny Taylor of Sylacauga, AL; and aunt, Marcy Richards of Fayette, AL; several nieces, nephews, and many friends of the Alpine community.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Taylor and mother, Janie Lou Taylor; brother, Travis Reed Taylor and sister, Alice "Elizabeth" Lee Justice.
A visitation for William will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. A graveside service will be Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Tallasahatchie Cemetery in Alpine, AL. with Rev. Paul Vick officiating.
