Edward is survived by his sons James Duncan (Mandy); and Charlie Duncan (Brenda); his sister Jeanette Bannister and his brother Kenneth Lynn Duncan; his grandchildren Brandy Vittore (Anthony), Michelle McDaniel (Kenneth), Mallory Watson (Brad), Adam Duncan, and Noah Duncan; and his 13 great grandchildren. Edward also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Harris Duncan; his father Charles Edward Duncan and his mother Lillie Bell Masters Duncan; his sisters Vonzale Marlow; Gertrude Elder; Zolar Mae Scoggins; Coleen Byrd; Beatrice Downs and Edna Limbaugh; and his great grandchild Colt McDaniel.
Edward retired from Avondale after 43 years. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist. He also enjoyed bird watching, camping, woodworking, and fishing.
A visitation for Edward will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Rev. Mike Dankson, Dr. Wayne McDaniel, and Rev. Jeff Harris will officiate the service.
Edward will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
Serving as pallbearers are Donnie Ray, Richard Downs, Bennie Marlow, Adam Duncan, Noah Duncan and Kenneth McDaniel. His grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
