Funeral services for Tony Ray Cox, age 60 of Sylacauga, will be Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with Rev. Jeff Harris officiating. Burial will follow in New Site Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He is survived by his mother, Joan Cox of Sylacauga; brother, Lee Cox and wife Laurie of Pensacola, FL; sister, Venetia Barbour and husband Stephen of San Antonio, TX; nieces and nephews, Daniel Smith, Isaac Cox, Kaitlyn Cox, Bailey Cox, Michael Meyer and Kristen Meyer. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Cox and his brother, Bobby Cox. Tony was a High School All Star Trumpet Player in Alabama and North Carolina. His passion was music and his hobby was building guitars. His career was working in construction and the saw mill industry. Tony served in the military and merchant marine with unit receiving commendation for meritorious service during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm/Desert Sortie.
