Peggy Robinson Fitts

Peggy Robinson Fitts of Sylacauga passed away June 20, 2011 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. She was 80 years old. Born on February 7, 1931, Mrs. Fitts was a native of Sylacauga and attended Sylacauga High School, where she was a majorette in the Sylacauga High School Band, an accomplishment for which she was most proud. In addition to being a majorette for the band, she also played clarinet. Mrs. Fitts was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Sylacauga. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.L. Fitts; a brother, Bobby Robinson; and her mother, Christine Jones Fuller. She is survived by her daughter, Sara Lynn Stiltner of West Blocton, AL; two sons, Jim Fitts (Donna) of Lake Martin and Wayne Fitts (Brenda) of Pensacola, FL; sisters, Sara Jo Roberts of Birmingham, AL and Nan Fowler (David) of Birmingham, AL; brothers, Harry Neal Robinson of Sylacauga and Don Robinson (Brenda) of Sylacauga; grandchildren Jessica Craig Browning, Leslie Mykael White, and Jarrod White; and great grandchildren London Danelle Craig and Kyleigh Gribbs. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home's chapel on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. with the Reverends David Lee and Bob Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Robinson, Brad Robinson, David Fowler, Fred Pate, William F. Phifer, and Jimmy Reynolds. Don Robinson will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will accept flowers or donations may be offered to Alzehimer Association.
