Ned Crimmin, son of Hubert Donald Crimmin and Eileen Elizabeth Crimmin, born on August 26, 1944 in Seattle WA, passed away peacefully in a family home in Sylacauga, AL with family by his side at the age of 80 on April 07, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Carla Crimmin; children, Keith Charman, Steven Crimmin, Tina Brown; and grandchildren, Livy Charman, Will Charman, Ian Brown and Adair Brown.
Ned proudly served in the US Air Force in Intelligence and retired after 20 years with medals, decorations, badges, ribbons and many more accolades. He was honored to have served and be a veteran. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion for many years. After he retired from the military he became a philanthropist using his extra time to service the community by providing maintenance support for the people in the surrounding area. He then went on to work at St Vincent De Paul Thrift Store helping the people in the community. When his beloved mother passed, he started his own business restoring/selling/donating old slides/photos specifically from her writing/photography career involving hydroplanes and then expanded to slides/photos rich in military history from veterans/civilians from all over which he thoroughly enjoyed during retirement.
Anyone that knows Ned, knows he likes to be busy and was always doing something for himself or others and was compassionate about it. He was quite an active man for his age. He loved to garden, he enjoyed watching sporting events and collecting/reading war history books which is just some of the many things he loved to do. When Ned wasn't busy helping others and restoring old slides/photos, he loved playing pool with friends and it also gave him the opportunity to meet new people. He could sit for hours talking about anything and everything. When he moved in with his children, he always looked forward to getting out and doing something with them or the caretakers ready to go everyday and enjoying the simple things in life.
Ned will be remembered as a kind-hearted, caring, compassionate, understanding, dedicated man. He also had quite the sense of humor. He always had many stories to tell and loved talking about his kids. Anyone who has had the honor of knowing him, has that special "Ned" moment that is unique to each individual. He will be greatly missed by all the lives he has touched during his lifetime.
Ned’s wishes will be respected by his children where his ashes will be laid to rest with his mother’s at his favorite place of peace and tranquility where many happy memories were made on the Hood Canal with the stunning views of the Olympic Mountains in Tahuya, Washington.
