Sylacauga - Kenneth Michael Salter, age 57, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Alpharetta, Georgia. Funeral services will take place at Curtis and Son North Chapel Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Curtis and Son Funeral Home.
Ken was born on October 28, 1960, to Randy and Dorothy Salter. He was a 1978 graduate of Sylacauga High School. He attended Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1982, and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in 1984.
He was a life member of the Auburn Alumni Association and enjoyed cheering on the Tigers in all sports whether at home or on the Plains. Upon graduating from Auburn, Ken began working at Kimberly Clark Corporation, ending up at the corporate office in Roswell, Georgia, where he worked as a senior project manager in Research and Development until his death.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and sister Sandra Allen of Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Julie and stepsons Will and Robert Hughes of Sylacauga; brother Jeff Salter of Sylacauga; niece Morgan Salter of Starkville, Mississippi; brother Jim Salter of Las Vegas, Nevada; his beloved faithful dog Anna; and many other family members and friends, who will all miss him greatly.
John Blackmon, Greg Henderson, Mark Henderson, Will Hughes, Robert Hughes, and Jimmy Ward will serve as pallbearers.
