Throughout James’s life, he devoted himself to the youth of Sylacauga. Better known as “Coach Maddox,” James impacted countless lives over a forty-year span coaching both football and baseball in Sylacauga Little League and other youth organizations. He was also “Bro. James” at Oldfield Baptist and Odena Baptist for many years, where he served as youth minister. James had a heart for the young people in his community. In honor of James’s dedication to the youth, the family will accept flowers or donations can be made to the Boys' Club of Sylacauga.
