Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Glen James Culberson Jr., 95, will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Bro. Russell Gooden officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Mr. Culberson passed from his earthly life to his heavenly home on Monday, December 6, 2021 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen & Beuna Culberson, sister, Hazel Smith, sister, Virginia Fennell, brother, Billy Lee Culberson, niece, Teresa Woodall and nephew, Mark Woodall. He was a graduate of B.B. Comer High School, Class of 1944 and graduated from Reynolds Business College. Mr. Culberson was a very humble, kind man who was a lifetime deacon and served on many committees. He was a faithful and active member of Mignon Baptist Church. Mr. Culberson was a Korean War Veteran and retired from Alabama Power. He was also known for his tea and coffee he made at the Soup Kitchen. He enjoyed reading his bible, watching college football and baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary B. Culberson; two children, Steve (Dana) Culberson, Kelly (Scott) Spangler; four grandchildren, Tony Culberson, Josh Culberson, Anna Katherine Spangler, Aleksandra Spangler; six great-grandchildren, Kinley Culberson, Graham Culberson, Frank Culberson, Ruby Culberson, Paxton Culberson, Sutter Culberson; and brother, David (Cheryl) Culberson.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Soup Kitchen or Mignon Baptist Church Building Fund.
