Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Frank Junior Ray, 84, will be Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Bro. Matt Canoles and Bro. David Rosell officiating. Burial will be Monday, October 19, 2020 at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
Mr. Ray died Tuesday, October 14, 2020 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Bessie Lee Ray, and sister, Kathrine Fuller. Mr. Ray served 3 years active and 3 years reserve as an Army BAR Spec 4 and expert marksman. After the Army, he started working in cotton mills and moved on to steel working. He spent his life as an honest, hardworking man. He loved animals and being outdoors.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Joe) Swain; son, Tim (Patty) Ray; daughter, Rachel Adams; four grandsons, Alan (Amber) Swain, Dustin (Samm) Swain, Nick Delgado, Matthew Ray; two granddaughters, Ashley Adams, Brooklyn Ray; and a host of loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
