Elinor Coleman Jones

Elinor Coleman Jones, age 91 of Sylacauga, passed away January 24, 2024. She is survived by her son, Ken Jones and wife Peri; daughter, Cindy Jones; brothers, Buford Coleman and James Mervin Coleman; two grandchildren, Caleb Jones and Daniel Jones; and by many nieces, nephews, friends and beloved pets, Bella and Citrus. Elinor is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter Jones; parents Rev. Tom A. Coleman and Vera Vance Coleman and her sisters, Glenda Weeks, Murlene Taunton and Harriet Reamer. She retired after 48 years with Geo Chemical Company. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with special friends at First Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel, Monday, January 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Rick Patrick officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 28 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

She will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Sylacauga Animal Shelter, 41 Shelter Lane, Sylacauga, AL 35150 or First Baptist Church of Sylacauga, 10 S. Broadway Ave., Sylacauga, AL 35150.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Mandi and Al Cantrell, Rhonda Sims, Kylan King, Shasta Jones, Matt Dodson and the staff at Amedisys Hospice Care.
