Gene loved his family, fishing and Alabama football. In his younger days he enjoyed playing basketball, softball and coaching youth sports in Montevallo. You knew he considered you a special friend if he called you “Hoss”
He is predeceased by his mother, Bonnie Louise Usrey Honeycutt Jones, Father, Issac Edward Honeycutt, sister Ruth Faye Honeycutt, stepdaughter Betty Ann Rayfield and stepson Shane Rayfield.
He is survived by the love of his life, Linda Honeycutt. Son, Tony Honeycutt (Stephanie Staggs Honeycutt), Grandsons, Christopher Childers, Sam Eastman, Elijah Honeycutt, Ryder Honeycutt, and the lovely Margaret. Brother, Jerry Honeycutt (Patricia Honeycutt), Sister, Teresa Plier, Nieces and Nephews, Brody Honeycutt, Jessica Honeycutt Seales (Todd Seales), Tim Plier (Rhonda Loftis Plier), Todd Plier and a host of great nieces, nephews and close friends.
A visitation for Gene will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. All services will be officiated by Rev. Donnie Blackmon.
