Sylacauga, AL - Graveside service for Dorothy Collins, 77, will be Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Bill Pruitt and Bro. Billy Williams officiating.
Mrs. Collins died Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas David Collins, and parents, Oather & Lillie Johnston. Mrs. Collins graduated from BB Comer High School in 1963 and after graduating she married as a military wife and lived in Germany and Washington State. She retired with over 20 years from Coosa Valley Nursing Home and was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and Sylavon Baptist Church. She was a supporter of St. Jude and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She loved raising and growing roses, cooking, shopping, painting, and exercising. She really enjoyed helping others by being a nurse and being in the medical community.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Collins; ex-husband, Donald W. Collins; and numerous cousins, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.
Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
