Mrs. Dorothy Perryman Bolton age 85 of Sylacauga, Al passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Funeral services for Mr. Bolton will be a celebration of life held at the First Presbyterian Church at 11AM on June 1, 2016. Visitation will be held from 5-8PM on May 31, 2016 at Curtis and Son Funeral Home. Dot was born on June 1, 1930 in Oak Hill, Al to W. S and Lois Dale Perryman. Dot married Lyndol Bolton on May 26, 1956 in Oak Hill, Al; they were married 54 years. After they married Dot and Lyndol lived first in Jacksonville where Lyndol graduated, and they in Tuscaloosa while Lyndol went to law school. They came to Sylacauga in 1960. She graduated from Moore Academy in Pineapple, Al. She completed the baccalaureate degree in English at Judson College, Marion, Al. Upon graduating she taught in the public school systems of Sylacauga, Talladega, Anniston, and Tuscaloosa. Dot was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Sylacauga for over 50 years. She served the church as an elder, adult Sunday School Teacher, on congregational committees, and in key roles for the women of the church. She received the Presbyterian women's honorary life membership award. In addition to her church activities Dot was involved in many organizations including Sylacauga Service league, Sylacauga Jaycee Auxiliary, and Judson College Alumni Association. She received the outstanding Jayceette Award in 1965. Dot was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She is survived by her two Children. Dale Bolton Simpson and her Husband Walter of Jacksonville, Florida, and Lynn Bolton and his wife Becky of Sylacauga; Three Grandchildren; Brooke Bolton Garrett and her Husband Nelson, Blake Bolton and Olivia Bolton; and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Dot is preceded in death by her husband Lyndol Bolton; her parents; W. S. and Lois Dale Perryman; as well as her brother Bill Perryman. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 10 South Broadway Avenue, Sylacauga, AL 35150 or First Presbyterian Church, 100 South Norton Avenue, Sylacauga, AL 35150. Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the service.
