Charlie BarnettChildersburg, AL - Funeral service for Charlie Barnett, 86, will be  Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Dr. Wayne McDaniel officiating.  Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery in Talladega Springs, AL.Mr. Barnett died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Bill Nichols Veterans Home in Alexander City, AL.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Guynette Barnett and daughters, Shewonda Blanchard and Carolyn Wills.  Mr. Barnett was a member and also a deacon of First Free Will Baptist Church.  He worked for Motes Construction for many years and he also worked at Travis Wesson and Company as a carpenter.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.He is survived by his grandsons, Cliff Wayne Wills, James David Sims, Jeremy Wills and David Brent Sims; granddaughters, Christy Sims Roberson and Savannah Sims; brother, Joseph Barnett; sister, Anna Lee Ratliff and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.Pallbearers will be Joe Taylor, John Butler, Larry Sanders, John Nicholson, Charlie Duncan, Emanuel Kelly, Berry Chance and Doyle Harris.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
