Carolyn Riggins Staten

Childersburg, AL - Graveside service for Carolyn Riggins Staten, 82, will be Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Giddens officiating.

Mrs. Staten passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her first-husband, Bobby Joe Baker, her infant son, Roger Dale Baker, her parents, Moses and Vernie Riggins, and her sister, Gloria Jean Sims. Mrs. Staten was married to her husband Harmon Staten for 15 years and was a Baptist by faith. She worked as an LPN and had retired from the Goodwater Nursing Home after 19 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Staten is survived by her husband, Harmon Staten; son, Michael Baker; daughter, Debye Baker husband Eugene Wood; step-daughters, Sharon Anderson, Donna Lynn Lamb husband Kurt, and Rhonda Lynn Brodgan husband Tommy; two brothers, Rodney Riggins and Richard Riggins; sister, Wanda Patton; six grandchildren, Shane Stewart wife Kristie, Brian Baker wife Jenny, Tara Giddens husband Tommy, Blake Baker, Chris Nix wife Crystal, and Brent Baker; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Wallis husband Brad, Emily Giddens, Brittany Anderson husband Hunter, Brett Johnson, Zack Stewart, Gunner Stewart, and Bentley Baker; and her five great-great-grandchildren, Addisyn Beutler, Casen Miller, Bradleigh Wallis, Huston Anderson, and Spencer Morris.
