Billy Joe Thornton, age 86, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with Rev. Randy Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Billy is survived by his wife, Glenda Thornton; daughter, Jeffery Susan Green (Alan Green); sister, Charlotte Parkinson (Rick); grandchildren, Kody Harrison (Brittnie), Cheyenne East (Randall), and Andrew Green; and great grandchildren, Kylie Harrison and Kynsie Harrison.
He was a member and a deacon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, PO Box 1314, Sylacauga, AL 35150 or First Responders of County Line Volunteer Fire Dept., 55 Lake Tate Rd., Sylacauga, AL 35150.
