Bettye Ruth (Hammons) Hickman

Bettye is survived by her husband, Herman Olen Hickman; her son Tony Hickman (Cheryl); and her daughter Susan Martin (Darrell); her granddaughters Haley Martin and Emily Martin; and two great-grandchildren, Zander Taylor and Brooks Cobb.

Bettye was preceded in death by her father Walker F. Hammons and her mother Berta Brooks Hammons; her brothers, Hugh T. Hammonds and J.D. (Sandy) Hammons; her sisters, Celia Hammons Motes and Jo Hammons Harris.

She was a loving wife, mother and (Grand Mama). She loved the Lord, her family and serving her church.

A visitation for Bettye will be held Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel. A funeral service will occur Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wes Johnson officiating.

Bettye will be laid to rest in Tallasahatchie Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Joe Harris, Tommy Hammonds, Mike Hammonds, Greg Motes, Steve Motes, Kevin Hammons, Darrell Hickman, Tim Hickman, Jeff Hickman and Randy Hickman.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bettye's memory may be made to Odena Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
