We the family of Vincent Conrad Bernard, 45 of Wagmatcook First Nation N.S regret to announce his sudden passing on February 19, 2024 at the Sydney Hospice Hospital. Surrounded by his loved ones, partner (common law spouse) Melissa Peck and his family. Born in Baddeck September 27, 1978, he was the son of Phillip James Bernard Sr. (Karen) and Florence Marion Googoo (Wayne).
Vinnie was a great man with a good heart with a smile that lights up the room. He was a family man, and he would do anything for them. Oh how he loved his partner Melissa Peck of Wagmatcook and his 4 beautiful sons TLC's Tarver 18, Thiago 15, Treyvin 11, Tyriq 5 and daughter Cassandra Paul 19. His sisters Cynthia Bernard (Terry) Charlene Bernard - Lafford (Mike) brothers; Phillip Jr, Curtis, Peter Larry and Roderick. He is also survived by his 5 Godchildren Talisha Isadore, Alicia Googoo, Jerome Lafford Googoo, Tyesha Bernard and Nilan Peck. Vinnie is also survived by godfather Dennis Isadore and godmother Eunice Peck.
He is pre deceased by his grandparents Peter P. Googoo, Helen (Pierro), Frank Larry Bernard & Mary Susan (Isadore) and brother George Bernard.
Vinnie completed grade 12 in 1999 and as he walking to get his diploma Bryan Adams’ “Cloud Number 9” came on the radio and Vinnie threw his hand in the air and said “we got this!”. He also completed his MED, CPR and AED. Vinnie was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for 26 years for Wagmatcook. He love playing card games, darts, pool, online games (Black Ops) and chess, he was also a Boston Bruins fan. Vinnie was employed by the Wagmatcook Band, from 2020 - 2022 worked on the River Restoration Crew, 2004 - 2020 worked in the Crab Fishery (as a fisherman), 2003 - worked as a Wharf Security Guard 2000 - he worked on the Grant .

Visitation will take place on Saturday February 24, 2024 after 5pm at the Elder Centre , Fishery Rd , Wagmatcook. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 26 , 2024 at 11am at Queen of the World Church, Wagmatcook with Fr. Victor Ozonoh officiating.
