Tanya was the daughter of late Mary Sandra Ann Clair, father late John Gilbert Syliboy, and step father late John Joseph Herney.
Tanya was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Leonard Clair and Margaret Mae Clair(Simon). Her paternal grandparents John and Helen (Paul) Syliboy. She was also predeceased by her brother Malcolm Herney, granddaughter Anya Marie Clair Gloade, maternal uncle Joseph Harry Clair, aunt and uncle Eva and Joe Clair (twins), aunts and uncles on her stepfathers side Margaret Herney, Matilda Marr, Dianne Herney, and Peter Herney, Oboy Louis Herney, Roy Herney, Her daughter’s father Colin Stephen Christmas. Godfather George Simon.
Tanya is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughter Sharona Lynn Clair-Gloade, grandchildren Kyrell Gloade, and Mary Kysandra Gloade. Brothers Nicholas Herney and Shawn Clair, John Gilbert Syliboy jr., Sherman Beatty and sister Lesia Syliboy. Also surviving are maternal uncles Joseph Clair (Gloria Johnson-Clair), aunt/godmother Eva Augustine (Gary), aunt Linda Dennis, Charolette Clair, aunty Mary Johnson (Joesph). Aunt and uncles on her stepfathers side Mary Agues, Deborah Marr, and William M Herney. Godchildren Sheena Clair, Nicody Francis, Jaxon Appleton, Korlaia Paul, Corey Dennis. Many nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews. Also loved ones Aria Bernard and Kyanne Paul. Tanya also leaves a part of her with all of the many foster siblings, foster children , and others that she opened her home to and cared for, who so graciously shared a part of their lives with her. All her friends that she made over the years from far and near, including her Boston family.
Tanya was someone who loved the simple pleasures of life such as a nice drive, 420, watching and listening to the rain during a storm, camping and the beauty of nature, watching the bruins win, and a having a good laugh with anyone around.
A wake will be held at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni on Thursday, December 12 starting at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be held at 10am on Saturday December 14, at Holy Family Church., Eskasoni with Fr.
