Sandie was born on August 10th, 1963, in Conne River, Newfoundland to Loretta and Louis John. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, known for her kindness, sharp wit, courage, infectious laughter, and unwavering support for those she loved. Sandie had a passion for baseball, knitting, crafts, baking, and dabbling in various art forms which brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
Throughout her life, Sandie touched the hearts of many along the way and her impact will forever be felt. Sandie’s spirit will live on in the countless lives she influenced and the memories she created.
She is survived by her parents, Loretta and Louis, children, Felicia (Austin), Cameron (Sarah), Daniel "Dano" (Savanna), Dominique (Brandon), and Asia (Jacob), Grandchildren Michael, Isaiah, Gideon, Samuel, Caroline, Esmé, Adelaide, Iris, Soliel, and Mali, Great Grandchildren Kora and Sophie, Siblings Martha (Mike), Conrad, Toby, Scotty, and Rocky (Mindy), Common-law partner Peter, nieces, nephews, godchildren and a community of friends who will miss her dearly.
Sandie was preceded in death by her son Mise’l, biological father Anthanasuis, and niece Nikita, who will be guiding her along on her spirit journey.
Sandie is in the care of TW Curry Parkview Chapel. A visitation will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 starting at 7:00 pm at 25 Pi’Kun Ave, Membertou. A celebration of Sandie’s life will be held on Monday November 25, 2024 at St. Marguerite Bougeoys Church, 40 Cabot St., Sydney at 11:00 am with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Salite to follow.
