My sympathy to Georgette & families. I 've know Robert since he was a young lad. I lost track sadly but I still keep in contact with his sister Carole. I found his obit in a newspaper & felt I needed to express my sympathy. Robert always had a HUGE smile & I'm sure We picked on him but he never had a cross or cranky word.

We were sad to hear the news.  We are sorry we could not make it to visitation.  Bob and the family are in our thoughts.

Aunt Georgette, Roy, Carla, Robbie and David:

Uncle Robert is one of my favorite people. Whether we were visiting Westmount (which we loved to do) or gathered in Margaree his smile always lit up the room. He could poke fun and would have the room laughing, and he always made me feel special and loved. He was my favorite Santa too :) 

I'm sitting here in North Carolina wishing I was with you all, to hug, shed tears and share our favorite memories of a man who will not be forgotten. Please know I love you all and am with you in spirit and am absolutely heartbroken at his passing.

Georgette and family, my condolences to you on your great loss. My memories of Robert are of an older cousin who was up for fun and laughter at all times. My favourite time was playing tennis with real rackets in our wreck room on Cottage Road. Didn't break a thing. Your photo gallery shows he did not change much in later life. Wonderful.

I could never help but feel special and loved around Uncle Robert. He was always ready with a joke and a positive message and his laughter was so full of warmth. My heart goes out to the whole Skinner family. I wish I could be there to give you all hugs and share memories. Please know that my heart and thoughts are with you as you both mourn and celebrate the life of this wonderful man.

I was so sad to hear about Uncle Robert's passing. Growing up, going to Uncle Robert's house was always one of my favourite things to do. He always made me feel so welcome with all of his jokes, and of course making sure that I got to play Robbie's video games.

Whenever the Gallant family got together, people always gravitated toward Uncle Robert. He just had one of those wonderful personalities that made everyone want to be around him. His absence will certainly be felt at all future family gatherings. I'm going to miss him a lot.

I really wish that I could have made it home for the funeral this weekend. Aunt Georgette and the whole Skinner family, please know that you'll be in the thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to learn of Robert's death. Spent great times together growing up in Inverness. We spent many nights talking the night away till dawn at Roberts family home. Many blessings and know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers in this sad time.

Bob was a true community man. From coaching soccer to organizing events at church and school to helping families in the community he was a true role model. He had a big, loud laugh that I will never forget in addition to a big heart.

My sincerest condolences to the whole family.

Rest in peace Uncle Robert. I can still hear him singing: They're gonna put me in the movies. They're gonna make a big star out of me And oh how I will miss the warm welcome he always gave me when I travelled to Nova Scotia every summer. He had such a capacity for joy. Such a warm and generous spirit. My heartfelt condolences go out to his friends and family.

I woke up this morning to find out one of the greatest men I've ever known passed away. I'm still in shock I think. My uncle Robert Skinner was truly one of a kind. He was devoted to his family, friends, community and church. He lived his life with the biggest of smiles and always a kind word. He, my Aunt Georgette and cousins gave me some of the best memories I have from my childhood. He will be dearly missed. Until we meet again. 
 Alex, Joanne and I are thinking of Georgette, David, Robbie, Carla and Roy today. All our love. Xo

I'm devastated Rob and absolutely heartbreaking broken. Wish I could be there to celebrate his life. He was such a positive, loving and wonderful man. The world is a darker place without his laughter. My heart goes out to you and the Skinners. Love you.
