The family of Patricia Charlene MacAdam-Blanchard and those who knew her, lost a unique and special treasure when she passed away on Wednesday, April 10th at Hospice Cape Breton. Patricia was one of those people that told it like it was and you always knew exactly where you stood with her. She had a wicked sense of humour and although she encountered more than her fair share of life’s troubles, she never let them get her down. After a momentarily “life sucks” it would be same old Patricia. She had a huge heart and would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Patricia worked for many years at the families KFC business and then later for over 12 years at the Howie Centre Tim Hortons where many of her customers developed into friendships.
Born on Mar. 28, 1951 to the late Allan and Noreen (Murphy) MacAdam. She leaves behind her son David MacIntyre, daughter Tara MacIntyre (Glenn Hyde), grandchildren Nicholas and Charlene (Jonathan) and great granddaughter Paisley. She also leaves her siblings Vernon (Patricia), Frank, Mary (Ron) Hatcher and Eileen (Raymond) Bryden as well as sister-in-law Janet MacAdam and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Thomas, brothers Billy Myatt and Allan MacAdam and one sister Noreen “Nonnie” MacPhee.
There will be a time of visiting from 12:30 - 2pm on Tuesday, April 16 which will be followed immediately at 2pm by a funeral service. All will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney. Inurnment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
The family would like to thank everyone at Hospice Cape Breton for being so kind and compassionate during Patricia’s stay. You made it feel truly like home. Also thank you to Dr. Stephen MacDougall and Dr. D'Intino for all of their care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice Cape Breton would be appreciated.
