Norman MacDonald, age 80, finished the marathon of his life on October 1, 2017, passing away peacefully after a short illness with his family by his side.
He was born June 20, 1937 to the late Alexander (Framboise) and Catherine (MacLean) (Kennington Cove) MacDonald.
Raised in Ashby area of Sydney, he lived on Leonard Street in the Shipyard for the past 45 years.
He is survived by the love of his life Zandra (Cameron), his two loving daughters Kelly (Ken) MacLeod, (Papa’s boys Kyle and Keigan MacLeod), and Kim (Eldon) MacDonald; son Keith (grandsons Brett, Keith Alexander).
He lived his life to the fullest as a simple, quiet man who was happiest being with his family.
The family request anyone who wishes to do so should raise a glass of Dalwhinnie in his memory.
The family would like to thank Dr. D’Intino and her Palliative Care team at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, as well as, the doctors and nursing staff on 6A at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax.
