Mary "Plsit" Bridget Poulette

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother Mary Bridget "Plsit" Poulette on March 27, 2025 at her home in Eskasoni, while surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born in Sydney on February 10, 1951 to the late Mary and Andrew Bernard.

Plsit enjoyed knitting, double up, watching youtube, going shopping and stopping at Ziggy or KFC. Her favorite time of year was Halloween. She got so much joy out of watching the children Trick or Treating.

She also enjoyed baking and preparing Sunday dinners, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children Benjamin Andrew, Margaret Rose (John), Mary Agnes (Ruben), Alexandrine (Bart), Nancy Mae (Bob) and Stephen (Marie), grandchildren Jenna, Denelle, Karissa, Arianna, Chelsea and Chloe. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Martha, Joanne, Madeline, Mildred and Nancy, brothers-in-law Howard, Maynard (Gina), godchildren Melanie Marshall, Beverly Herney, Leon Julian and Irene Poulette, many nieces, nephews, cousins and bff Betty Ann, Lillian, Joanie, Norma and Delace.

Besides her parents, Mary is predeceased by Benjamin, her loving husband of 50 years, a son and 4 grandchildren in infancy, sister Jane Marie Herney (Roy), sisters-in-law Betty Paul (Mike), Rosie Marshall (Hoss) and Nancy Mae (infancy), brothers-in-law Charlie, Francis, Walter, David and Levi and Eugene Poulette (infancy) as well as her godparents.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, April 3rd starting at 5pm at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 5 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 50 Gabriel St., Eskasoni, Fr. Antolin Asor officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
