It is with great sorrow that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother Jean Polegato (nee MacPhee). She passed away peacefully at South Health Campus Hospital, in Calgary Alberta on October 23rd, 2022, at the age of 91 years.
She was the daughter of the late Dan & Theresa MacPhee of Ben Eoin, NS. Predeceased by her husband Frederick (Sonny) Polegato, son William (Bill) Polegato, brother Donnie (Noreen) MacPhee, grandson Nathan MacMullin and nephew Donnie MacPhee.
She is survived by her daughter Theresa (Chris), sons Anthony, Lionel, Lawrence, Doug, & Reg (Judi) as well as 5 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Jean spent her early years working as a housemaid at the Glebe House at St Anthony Daniel’s parish in Sydney. She later married and moved to Marion Bridge where she raised her seven children. She was a devoted wife and a kind and generous woman but most of all an exceptionally loving mother and always there when you needed. As the years passed and her children grew, she followed them west to Calgary in 1998 where she resided with her daughter Theresa.
She loved to laugh and will be fondly remembered for telling stories over a good “cup of tea”. She will be lovingly remembered for her generous unconditional heart and will be deeply missed by her daughter Theresa who was by her side always.
A visitation will be held at TW Curry Parkview Chapel in Sydney on Tues, Nov 22nd from 5-8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day at TW Curry Parkview Chapel at 11am with Father Conrad Edwards officiating.
