It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Emma Doucette, 99 of Sydney, on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility.
Born in Cap LeMoine, NS, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret LeBlanc.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s parish and a member of the C.W.L. for over 50 years. She was instrumental in helping create the banners for Mass for Shut Ins and worked on numerous other banners for various organizations. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by daughters Sharon (Gordon) Roach, Woodstock, NB; Beverly Doucette, Sydney; Raymond (Catherine) Doucette, Halifax; Kevin (Elizabeth) Doucette, Oakville, ON; grandchildren Mary James, Lynn Stewart, Jen Pepin, Laurie Doucette, Danielle Doucette, Suzanne Doucette, great grandchildren Zoe James, Sasha James, Jackson Pepin, Maddison Pepin, Emma Stewart and Lily Knight.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Joseph Richard, brothers Joe, Steve, Placide, Arthur and sister Catherine.
Visitation for Mrs. Doucette will be from 7-9 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:30 pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
