Marie 'Mary Ann' Chiasson

89 – Sydney

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Chiasson on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Cheticamp, she was the daughter of the late Lubin and Emilie (Muise) Deveaux.

Mary Ann was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the C.W.L.

She is survived by a sister, Edna Deveaux, Cheticamp, special niece Ann Deveaux, sisters-in-law Laurette Larade and Bertha Deveaux, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse, a son, Roger; brothers Simon, Henry, and Alex John; sisters, Katie Bresowar and Mary Margaret Camus.

Visitation will be held 11 am – 1:30 pm on Monday, January 27 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated 2 pm on Monday at Sacred Heart Church, Rev. Bill Burke will officiate. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
