81 – Little Narrows

Marian (Bourinot) Dickie, 81, Little Narrows, Nova Scotia, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck.

Born in Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Ina (Mauger) Bourinot. She was predeceased by husband James; daughter Beverley (Glen) Thistle; son Bill (Patricia); daughter Allison (in infancy); brother Lloyd Bourinot and sister Muriel Peers.

Marian is survived by son Jim (Elizabeth), Sydney; daughters Mary (Ian) MacKenzie, Little Narrows; Carol (Peter) Wilson, Head of St. Margaret’s Bay; brother Cline Bourinot, Port Hawkesbury; sister Laura Darragh, Bridgewater; 4 grandchildren, Mark, Ryan, Bill, Jenna and 2 great-grandchildren, Taylor and Aedhyn.

Marian was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was passionate for her music, playing the organ and piano, teaching music at various levels in her communities over her lifetime. She was the organist at many churches of which she was a member.

Many thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Victoria County hospital in Baddeck. Also, special thanks to the home care service ladies who attended to her needs in recent months.

No visitation or funeral by request. A private family committal service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
