It is with shock and a profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Margaret Marie MacLeod at her home in North Sydney on Sunday, January 19, 2020. Marie was born to Robert Kenneth “Ken” and Caroline (Steele) MacLeod in North Sydney on Aug. 22, 1971. Marie grew up in North Sydney and even from a young age excelled in everything she put her mind to. She graduated with top honours and went on to attend CBU, UNB and completed her business degree at Mt. St. Vincent’s. After graduating university, she worked in the Restaurant/Food Services industry, managing a number of restaurants. She also worked for several years in HR with the North Side Call Centre. In 2018 she found her dream job as a Family Service Advisor with Dignity Memorial. Marie’s professionalism combined with her kind, compassionate nature and her love of people made her an ideal fit in her new role. In her spare time Marie enjoyed crafting of all kinds (especially sewing and jewelry making), travelling and music. Marie is survived and will be dearly missed by her parents Ken & Caroline, sister Caroline, beloved partner Jamie Anderson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, particularly Patsy Foley, nieces, nephews and Vanessa & Nikola, two exchange students who were like daughters to her. She was predeceased by her grandparents John & Marie Steele and John & Margaret MacLeod, a sister in infancy and her uncle Hector. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 27 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney.
