Born in Kempt Head, Nova Scotia, Jessie traveled the world as a military spouse and retired from Sears Canada in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1993. She was an avid gardener, exquisite quilter, and voracious reader who loved to travel. In her later years, she grew fond of singing and performing with the MacGillivray Guest Home choir. A master of pies who suffered no lies, she was sharp of wit and even sharper of tongue for those she deemed worthy of either.
