Jim was a beloved husband, amazing father, grandfather, uncle, godfather, brother & friend. After a courageous battle with cancer he is now in the arms of his heavenly family. Jim was born in Cape North, NS to the late Neil Duncan and Annie May (Petrie) MacLean on November 1, 1947.
Jim retired from the North Sydney Ship Yard in 2011. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, camping and especially his loud discussions with his daughter-in-law on his 8 o’clock visits every Sunday morning. Jim loved dancing, listening to Johnny Cash and telling stories. Our many trips to Cape North left us with many great memories.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Hope and only son Clint, whom the stars set on, his favorite daughter-in-law Belinda, his only granddaughter Krysta, sisters Linda Ardelli, Annette Nicholson, Anna (Dennis) Gillmore, his brother-in-law Albert MacGillivray, sister-in-law Charmaine Waldron and his godchildren Bernie, Jessica and Morgan as well as his niece Darlene, who always made our travel arrangements for our appointments. He is also survived by his good friends Susan and Edie, who thought she was his girlfriend and his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother Angus and sisters Eileen, Joan, Susan, Lena, Catherine and baby Annabelle.
Visitation will take place from 12:00 until 2pm on Saturday, Mar. 13 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel. Due to COVID and seating restrictions, a private family service will be held. Those wishing to attend virtually may join the service via livestream on TW Curry’s Facebook page starting at 3:30pm on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Patient Care Program at the Cancer Center.
Jim’s motto was live life to the fullest, it is shorter than you think.
“Love you always”
