Born and raised in Trenton, N.S., Helen was the daughter of the late, William and Florence (MacKinnon) McCarron. Wife of the late Allister Coleman, Helen spent her married life in Sydney, where she devoted herself to raising her family. Her unconditional love and support was felt by her family, both near and far, in many ways, from her attendance at sporting events to her home cooked meals. A woman of great strength, faith and dignity, she will remain in the hearts of her children and grandchildren forever. Helen is survived by her children, Kevin (Brenda), Anita Kline, Carron, Paul (Michelle), Maureen (David) Ferguson, and Kathleen (Kendall) Collingridge. Nanny will be sadly missed by her loving grandchildren; Stephen, Raymond, Jenna, Mitchell, Alexander, Brendan, Michaella, Taylor, Maddie and Emma. Also left to mourn are her siblings, Isabel Murphy, Owen McCarron, Kay (Jack) Rehill (Jack), New Glasgow and Joan Leseaux of Ottawa, Ont.; brother-in-law Greg (Patricia) Coleman and sister-in-law Jean Coleman, along with her dear friend Nellie Betts. Besides her husband Allister, Helen was also predeceased by brothers, Bernard, Adrian and Joe McCarron; sisters-in-law Kay and Audrey McCarron and brothers-in-law Michael Murphy and Gerard Coleman. Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sydney.
