It is with great sadness that the MacLean families inform you of the passing of Heather at the age of 44 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, Sunday, August 29, 2010, with her loving family by her side. Heather was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and raised in Sydney. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Garnet (MacLellan) MacLean. Heather is survived and was much loved and adored by her husband Eugene as well as her children Stephanie, Lauren and Callum; her brothers Michael and Gary (Shannon) MacLean. She will be sadly missed by a large extended family and many good and cherished friends. Her death was sudden, preceded by a courageouly fought 3 1/2 year battle with cancer, an illness she refused to allow to define or impede her. Heather's career was with the Dept. of Community Services, Sydney. Her life was devoted to her family. Weekends were spent watching her daughters' volleyball games or her son's hockey and soccer games. She was her children's biggest fan. She enjoyed her summers by her pool with her family and entertaining her friends. In her life she brought all her friends joy and laughter, which they will greatly miss. Those who knew her loved her dearly. Heather's passing leaves a void that is keenly felt by all and impossible to fill. Heather's life will be remembered and celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, George Street, Sydney.
