96 - Sydney

Genevieve Beatrice Clifford, 96, a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, formerly of 18 MacDonald Lane, Mira Rd, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the residence.

Born in Bras D’or, NS, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie Norris.

She was a lifelong member of both Immaculate Heart parish and the parish C.W.L. Gen was a well-loved crossing guard at the Mira Road Elementary School for many years. She will always be remembered for her warm hospitality to visitors who were always treated to her baked goods and never left without a homemade dishcloth or two.

She is survived by her sons Buddy (Barb), Sydney; Allan (Jane), Halifax; daughters Joan Colbert, Ontario; Irene Gouthro, North Sydney; Raylene (Rod) Belyea, Sydney; by 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1973, by her sons-in-law Bob Colbert, Brian Gouthro and Danny Mader, a grandson Scott Gouthro and sister Kathleen in childhood.

There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. Clifford. A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11 am in T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel with Rev. Everett MacDow officiating. Internment at a later date.
